Unnamed Glyph
(Glyph Drawing No. 11)
Charcoal, oil stick and graphite on paper
19 x 24 inches
Unlike earlier works whose titles emerged from pictorial associations, this drawing resists imposed meaning — though one may yet arise, whether for another viewer or over time. Its stark black-and-white geometry explores positive and negative space, balance and tension, stillness and dynamism. The surface is carefully controlled: oil stick dusted with charcoal powder yields an even tone, while selective rolling reveals subtle paper texture. The result is a disciplined meditation on harmony of form, surface, and tone.
