Open House (Glyph Drawing No. 12) continues the formal exploration of the series while introducing a shift in technique. Beginning as a mirror image of the previous drawing, it manipulates a few key shapes to alter the composition, yet departs from prior works by omitting charcoal entirely. The surface is created exclusively with oil stick applied by brayer, relying on the brayer to create texture and marks.

The visual motifs of home and architecture return — a rudimentary house-like shape, its triangular “roof” rotated 90 degrees on one side, suggesting an opened structure, what’s within bursting out like a jack-in-the-box. The title is a nod to a longtime friend and mentor, Robert Brinkerhoff, whose observation inspired this reading, highlighting the role of dialogue, interpretation, and collaboration in an artist’s work.
